EXCLUSIVE: Hot off a Creed performance that many feel will get him his first acting Oscar nomination in nearly 40 years (the first came for the original Rocky), Sylvester Stallone has a new burst of career momentum. He also has a new manager in Rick Nicita, who’ll join the team. Stallone is agented at WME, a team that helped convince Stallone to take a risk on Ryan Coogler’s vision for a rebirth of the Rocky franchise that has been one of the crowd-pleasing hits of the fall season.
A sequel isn’t set yet, but it most certainly will be as Stallone, Coogler and Michael B. Jordan — who plays Creed‘s title character — figure it out along with MGM, New Line and Warner Bros. This is a reunion of sorts for Stallone and Nicita, who worked together years ago while Nicita was an agent at CAA.
