EXCLUSIVE: WME has signed Robert Stromberg, the Oscar-winning production designer of Avatar and Alice In Wonderland whose directorial debut Maleficent grossed over $750 million worldwide and became the highest-grossing live-action directorial debut ever. Stromberg, who became the first production designer to win back-to-back Oscars for his work on James Cameron’s Avatar and Tim Burton’s Alice In Wonderland, had been repped by CAA.
He recently finished directing the 25-minute Virtual Reality experience for Ridley Scott’s The Martian, which will be released in early 2016. He’s currently developing to direct a film adaptation of the Liz Kessler bestselling children’s fantasy novel series, the first of which was The Tail Of Emily Windsnap. RSA continues to rep him for commercials.
