Laura Linney is in negotiations to star in The Dinner, a psychological thriller based on the 2009 Herman Koch novel that explores just how far some parents might go to protect their children. The Messenger‘s Oren Moverman wrote the adaptation and will direct.
Linney, who has been getting rave reviews for starring opposite Ian McKellan in Mr Holmes, next will be seen opposite Colin Firth, Jude Law and Nicole Kidman in Genius directed by Michael Grandage. She is also set to co-star with Tom Hanks in the Clint Eastwood-helmed Sully, playing the wife of hero pilot Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger. She is repped by ICM Partners, Brillstein Entertainment and Morris Yorn.
