Nick Ascheim is joining NBC and MSNBC as SVP of digital. The former BBC Worldwide exec is replacing executives Julian March and Richard Wolffe, who are leaving the company, NBC News/MSNBC chief Andy Lack said today in a memo to staff.
Wolffe had headed the relaunch of MSNBC.com in 2013 and was VP/executive editor. March joined NBC News in 2014 and was Senior Vice President Digital.
In his memo, Lack said Ascheim’s appointment “reflects the greater integration of NBC News and MSNBC.” Ascheim will work with “our new partners at BuzzFeed and Vox,” and report directly to Lack, who returned to NBCU in March to take over NBC News and MSNBC.
