Lionsgate acquired the distribution rights for Natural Born Prankstersa movie starring YouTube’s top pranksters VitalyzdTV, Roman Atwood and Dennis Roady. The film, financed and produced by Collective Digital Studio, follows the trio as they pull their best pranks and stunts. These three have a whopping following of 25 million subscribers, which has translated to over three billion (yes, with a ‘b’) views.

Natural Born Pranksters was directed by Roman Atwood and Ben Pluimer. The film will be released day-and-date in theaters, electronic sell through and video on demand in early 2016.

The marketing campaign for the film is already underway — and with the social reach of these guys, every video could be an ad for the movie. It began in earnest when Vitaly rushed the field during the 2014 Men’s World Cup Finals with the movie’s title written across his bare chest. That particular stunt garnered worldwide attention.

VitalyzdTV is currently the #1 prank channel with close to nine million subscribers, and Roman Atwood Vlogs did over 100 million monthly views. Pranks have now generated over 13 billion views worldwide on the YouTube platform alone … you can thank those who led the way on this type of entertainment, Ernie Kovacs, Alan Funt and more recently Ashton Kutcher.

In this film, these pranksters descend on Hollywood. The film includes such social media superstars as Jenna Marbles, Furious Pete, Jukka Hilden, KC James, Kevin Brueck, Tom Mabe, and Peter Vass.  Radio DJ Big Boy and Dave England are also featured.

This basically expands on Lionsgate digital plans. As part of its growing in-house digital studio, Lionsgate has already announced the development of a film featuring YouTube superstars The Janoskians, online sensation Freddie Wong’s first original RocketJump series for Hulu and the acquisition of the digital feature film Dirty Thirty starring YouTube phenoms Grace Helbig and Mamrie and Hannah Hart.
