The FCC has its eye on television stations as it prepares to auction airwave spectrum and possibly change the rules governing retransmission consent negotiations with pay TV distributors. So Fox Television Stations has put a lot on the plate of Joseph DiScipio, who was just promoted from VP to SVP for Legal and FCC Compliance.
DiScipio will handle regulatory matters and negotiate retransmission consent deals for the 28 stations that Fox owns in 17 markets.
He came to Fox in 2009 from Fletcher, Heald & Hildreth where he focused on broadcast media and FCC issues, and negotiated retrans deals for clients.
Prior to joining the firm, Di Scipio was a partner at Washington, D.C.’s Cohn and Marks. He was also a field agent at the FCC, and won the Catherine Forster Public Service Award for outstanding public service. He’s a past-president of the Federal Communications Bar Association, and chaired the FCBA Foundation.
