Wayne Bastrup has joined the cast of Warner Bros’ Clint Eastwood drama Sully, the pic based on the true story of Capt. Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger’s heroic 2009 landing of US Airways Flight 1549 onto the Hudson River that preserved the lives of all on board. Tom Hanks plays Sully, Laura Linney is his wife, and Colt McCallany also is in the cast. Shooting is underway in New York.
Bastrup, last seen onscreen in this summer’s Terminator Genisys and the Brian Wilson biopic Love And Mercy, plays Brian Kelly, a flight attendant aboard the plane who aided in the rescue of passengers after the landing. He is repped by Spotlight Management and The Daniel Hoff Agency.
Beau Knapp has been cast in Sand Castle, the Iraq war drama starring Nicholas Hoult, Henry Cavill and Luke Evans that begins shooting next month with a script by Chris Roessner, a former machine gunner and assistant to producer Mark Gordon, who is producing the pic. Knapp plays a sergeant in the unit that is tasked with repairing a broken water system in the dangerous and unstable Iraqi village of Baqubah.
Knapp also just landed a role in Jim Loach’s indie Measure Of A Man opposite Donald Sutherland, Judy Greer and Luke Wilson. His recent film credits include Southpaw, and he just wrapped Ang Lee’s Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk and Shane Black’s Amazon pilot Edge. He is repped by CAA and Luber-Rocklin.
