Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment’s new president won’t need an introduction to the business. The company promoted David Haddad, who in January was named WBIE’s EVP and GM.
He joined the company as SVP Digital Publishing in 2013. In his 25 years in online, entertainment, and games he was COO of Activision/Blizzard’s Guitar Hero business and held management positions at Sierra Online, Mattel and Disney.
In his new job, Haddad will oversee WBIE’s publishing, operations, sales, marketing, digital/mobile games, business development and game production. He’ll report to DC Entertainment President Diane Nelson, who’s also WBIE’s Chief Content Officer, and Warner Bros Worldwide Home Entertainment Distribution President Ron Sanders.
Nelson says Haddad’s “expertise in all areas of the video game business has been instrumental in our continued growth and success”
Sanders adds that the new president has “proven himself to be a leader who is equally adept at the creative and management sides of the games business”
WBIE says that it is “in the midst of its most successful year ever” with games including Batman: Arkham Knight, Mortal Kombat X, Lego Jurassic World and Dying Light.
