NBC Buys ‘This Is Happening’ Comedy From Gary Sanchez & Amy Rhodes

NBC has put in development This is Happening, a single-camera comedy from Universal Television and Will Ferrell and Adam McKay’s Gary Sanchez Productions. Written by Amy Rhodes (Bad Judge), with How To Live With Your Parents creator Claudia Lonow supervising, This Is Happening is about an uptight, unhappy, single woman in her mid-30s whose life changes when she gets a new job working for a popular website and starts hanging out with a group of her twentysomething co-workers. Rhodes and Lonow executive produce with Gary Sanchez’s Ferrell, McKay and Owen Burke.

Rhodes, a longtime writer-producer on Ellen, is managed by Brillstein Entertainment Partners. Lonow is repped by WME.
