Fox is heading to Hawaii with The 808, an hourlong drama from Sony Pictures TV and Sheldon Turner & Jennifer Klein’s studio-based Vendetta.
Written by Oscar nominee Turner, The 808 — named after the Hawaii area code — is described as a provocative look beyond the idyllic Hawaii postcard into a world of sex, sand and sin; a sexy soap set against the backdrop of Maui surf culture, which centers on two feuding families. Turner and Klein executive produce.
Under Vendetta’s recently renewed first-look deal with Sony TV, the company also is developing eight-hour limited series Blood Will Out at TNT, written by Turner and Walter Kirn based on Kirn’s autobiographical book. Turner is repped by CAA.
