Sherilyn Fenn is set for a recurring role on the upcoming sixth season of Showtime’s dramedy Shameless in a recasting. She will play Queen, an earthy, sensual, flouncy, flamboyant and joyous woman who had a brief encounter with Frank (William H. Macy) on top of a washing machine when both were high on mushrooms at 16. The encounter produced a now-adult daughter, Sammi (Emily Bergl). Queenie is a force of nature, a grandmother many times over who loves to be naked, grows organic vegetables, has lived on a commune for years and, while she claims to be an organic farmer, makes her real living off of a massive pot grow operation. Fenn replaces Kelly LeBrock who was originally cast in the role.
Season 6, which premieres January 10, picks up a few months after last year’s finale, leaving the Gallaghers to prepare for yet another long Chicago winter.
This marks a return to Showtime for Fenn, who also recurred on the network’s Ray Donovan. So far, there has been no indication that the Twin Peaks alumna would reprise her role in Showtime’s upcoming follow-up series. Fenn is repped by Michael McConnell at Artists International Management.
