HBO’s ‘Psi’, ‘Engrenages’ Among International Emmy Award Nominees

HBO Latin America’s Psi and Engrenages (Spiral) from Son et Lumiere and Canal+ Creation originale are among the drama series International Emmy Award nominees announced today by the International Academy at Mipcom. French cop drama seris Engrenages is currently being developed by Showtime and Endemol Shine Studios for the U.S. The series has been compared to The Wire and has been instrumental in raising the profile and the quality of French drama. Among the actor in a drama series nominees is Rafe Spall for the satirical drama Black Mirror Christmas special.

In all 40 nominees were announced in 10 categories spanning 10 countries: Angola, Austria, Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, France, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey, United Kingdom and the United States. The Awards will be presented at the annaul International Emmys Gala November 23 at the Hilton New York Hotel.

“Every year, the international television community competes to be recognized for excellence on the International Emmy’s global stage.” said Bruce L. Paisner, President & CEO of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. “We congratulate the 2015 Nominees for their outstanding programs and performances.”

The Academy also will present two special awards. Downton Abbey writer & creator, Julian Fellowes will receive the 2015 International Emmy Founders Award. Richard Plepler, Chairman & CEO, HBO will receive the 2015 International Emmy Directorate Award. Here is the complete list:
