Don’t mess with the Farrell clan. We’re getting the first look at WGN America’s drama series Outsiders, a tale of the Farrell family’s struggle for power and control in the hills of Appalachia. Living off the grid and above on their mountaintop homestead, they’ll protect their world and defend their way of life using any means necessary. Put succinctly: “Stay the hell off our mountain.”
Outsiders hails from playwright Peter Mattei, producers Peter Tolan and Paul Giamatti, Sony Pictures TV and Tribune Studios. The ensemble cast includes David Morse as Big Foster, Joe Anderson as Asa, Thomas M. Wright as Sheriff Wade Houghton, a cop who has a history with the Farrells, and grapples with a few troubles of his own; Ryan Hurst as Lil Foster,Gillian Alexy as G’Winveer, Kyle Gallner as Hasil, Christina Jackson as Sally-Ann, Francie Swift as Haylie and Phyllis Somerville as Lady Ray. It’s slated for premiere in early 2016.
