President Barack Obama is back in town tomorrow for some pre-Halloween Hollywood trick-or-treats courtesy of J.J. Abrams and the Tinseltown ATM. In a whirlwind 6 1/2-hour visit to Los Angeles on Saturday, the fundraiser-in-chief will hit a trio of deep-pocket events — which means, of course, there will be traffic snarls and road closures all over the city’s Westside (see the full list of closures from LAPD below).
After landing at LAX around 1 PM, Obama heads over to the home of the Star Wars director and wife Katie McGrath for a $33,400-per-person intimate roundtable event for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. Saturday’s fundraiser is yet another sign of how strong the Force is with the President — hosts Abrams and McGrath have been supporters and contributors to Obama and the Democrats. The filmmaker is not the only well-heeled and veteran contributor of Obama’s who will be welcoming the President into his home tomorrow. Michael S. Smith, who helped the Obamas redecorate the White House when they moved there in 2009, also will be feting the President with a $10,000-per-ticket event for the Democratic Hope Fund and the DNC at 5:40 PM. Obama appointed Smith’s husband, former HBO executive James Costos, to be the U.S. ambassador to Spain in 2013. Both events are sold out, sources tell me.

Between the Abrams and Smith tomorrow afternoon, the President will be seeking more Hollywood cash at a $1,000-per-person private concert to be held at a private home in Pacific Palisades at 3:45 PM. The money from that event, which I also hear is sold out, will be going to Obama for America and the DNC.The LAPD never gives the full road closures for presidential or vice presidential visits, the list below indicates that LA folks had better stay off the streets tomorrow afternoon — especially on the Westside. The President also could visit Will Rogers State Park, so Marine One might chopper him around for part of his visit. Obama splits for San Diego out of LAX at 7:30 PM for what sounds like some r&r before heading back to DC on Monday.
