‘NBC Nightly News’ Wins Weekly Ratings Across The Board

Lester Holt’s NBC Nightly News won another week in total viewers, in the news demo, and among younger 18-49 crowd. NBC’s newscast clocked 7.84 million viewers, 1.9M news demo viewers and 1.3M 18-49 year olds. But Holt’s newscast only edged out David Muir’s ABC World News Tonight by about 0.5%, or 32K viewers. That’s approximately the size of the student body at the University of Colorado in Boulder – and ABC’s closest position relative to NBC in four months.

Meanwhile, CBS Evening News is the only network evening news broadcast to post year-to-year growth in total viewers. While nearly 200K viewers shy of frontrunner NBC, it’s almost 200K better than CBS’s newscast did same week last year. CBS’s newscast ratings for last week include Monday through Wednesday and Friday stats, Thursday’s newscast being delayed for NFL.
