Michael Moore’s Where To Invade Next and The 33, directed by Patricia Riggen, are joining Sony’s Concussion as Centerpiece Galas at AFI Fest 2015 presented by Audi.Where To Invade Next will screen on Saturday, November 7 a the Lloyd L. Rigler Theatre at the Egyptian. The 33, starring Antonio Banderas, Rodrigo Santoro, Juliette Binoche, James Brolin, Lou Diamond Phillips, Mario Casas, Juan Pablo Raba, Adriana Barraza, Kate del Castillo, Cote de Pablo, Bob Gunton and Gabriel Byrne, will screen November 9 at the TCL Chinese Theatre.
AFI Fest’s opening-night gala will see the world premiere of the Angelina Jolie-Pitt directed By The Sea on November 5 and the closing-night gala will host the world premiere of The Big Short from Adam McKay on November 12.
AFI also announced its Special Screenings section will include Andrew Haigh-directed 45 Years; Anomalisa, directed by Charlie Kaufman and Duke Johnson; Rodrigo Garcia-helmed Last Days In The Desert; Yorgos Lanthimos’ The Lobster; Justin Kurzel’s Macbeth; and Werner Herzog’s Queen Of The Desert.
