Kanye West Auditions For ‘American Idol’

In addition to getting political advice from Barack Obama on Saturday when the President visited San Francisco, aspiring POTUS/Speaker of the House candidate Kanye West surprised American Idol judges when he turned up at auditions in the Golden Gate city. Leaving aside whether the whole thing was choreographed or not, West performed an a cappella version of his hit “Gold Digger” to the delight of judges Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick Jr., Keith Urban and host Ryan Seacrest.

West’s wife Kim Kardashian was along (natch) and posted an Instagram: 

And Seacrest later posted an Instagram of his own of West celebrating his Golden Ticket to American Idol‘s final season: “Look who’s going to Hollywood! #IdolAuditions #kanyewest (sic)”
