Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg starred together as mismatched cops in the 2010 action comedy The Other Guys. Five years later, they’re sharing the big screen again — this time playing paternal adversaries. Here’s the first new trailer in four months for Daddy’s Home, a comedy that pits two kids’ mild-mannered average-guy stepfather (Ferrell) against their slightly less-responsible biker-cool father (Wahlberg) in what the latter labels “a good old-fashioned dad-off.” Looks like the cards are kinda stacked against Husband 2: The Sequel. As co-star Thomas Haden Church chimes in, “If this guy was my wife’s ex, I’d put a bullet in my skull.” But apparently the stepdad can be killed by conventional weapons, as we witness him survive a motorcycle crash, a leap from a roof to a skate ramp and an ensuing run-in with live wires.
Sean Anders and John Morris co-directed the slapstick-heavy comedy, which they co-wrote with Brian Burns. The cast also includes Alessandra Ambrosio, Paul Scheer and Hannibal Buress. Paramount opens the romp from Red Granite Pictures on Christmas Day. Have a look at the trailer and tell us what you think.
