‘SNL’s Colin Jost Quietly Dropped Co-Head Writer Title At Beginning Of Season

It turns out Saturday Night Live‘s Weekend Update co-host and co-head writer Colin Jost dropped the latter title at the beginning of SNL‘s current season, the show confirmed today. No official announcement was ever made about the shift, but the TV blog Splitsider today noted a change in the end credits after Saturday’s episode with Tracy Morgan as guest host.

The co-head writer role had been a three-headed one Jost shared with Rob Klein and Bryan Tucker, who continue in their roles. Jost we’re told made the move so he could concentrate on writing for the Weekend Update segment he co-anchors with Michael Che, but he remains a key member of the writing staff .
