Carlos Gomez (The Glades, Gang Related) has been tapped for a season-long recurring role on USA Network’s upcoming drama series Queen Of The South.
The series, which chronicles the rise of Teresa Mendoza (Alice Braga) from the rough streets of Mexico to her life as a drug kingpin in Malibu, underwent some tweaking after it was picked up by USA just ahead of its upfront in May. It’s slated for premiere in 2016. Gomez will play drug lord Javier Acosta, who calls the shots from his compound in Colombia. Based on best-selling book La Reina Del Sur by Arturo Pérez-Reverte, Queen Of The South is co-produced by Fox 21 TV Studios and Universal Cable Prods.
Gomez, repped by Stone Manners Salners Agency and Billy Miller Management, next will be seen in the Universal sequel Ride Along 2 opposite Ice Cube and Kevin Hart.
