The season premiere of FX’s latest AHS franchise, American Horror Story: Hotel, has delivered 12.17 million viewers on linear and non-linear platforms, according to the network today. That’s a big bump from the 5.81M viewers who watched the first showing at 10 PM Wednesday. The 90-minute episode garnered 3.7M of those viewers in the key adults 18-49 demo, placing it only behind Fox’s Empire in Live+3 numbers in the time period.
Wednesday’s Live+SD numbers on premiere night saw American Horror Story: Hotel clock in down a tick from last October, when American Horror Story: Freak Show drew 6.13 million viewers. That opening had been up 10% from the 5.54 million total viewers who watched the debut of AHS: Coven on October 9, 2013.
