Indie distribution outfit Alchemy has promoted Brooke Ford to EVP Marketing, Acquisitions & Productions, and Jeff Deutchman to SVP Acquisitions & Productions. Ford, who had been EVP Marketing, will now also oversee Alchemy’s film acquisitions team. Deutchman, formerly VP Acquisitions, will report to her and continue to fine-tune the the company’s project pipeline. Ford will report to CEO Bill Lee.
Ford has been at the company — formerly known as First Look, then Millennium Entertainment, and now Alchemy as a stand-along distributor — since January 2006. Before that she was at 20th Century Fox, Paramount Classics and Fox Searchlight. Deutchman joined in November 2014 and since then has made deals for pics including Yorgos Lanthimos’ The Lobster, Gaspar Noé’s 3D Love, Nanni Moretti’s Mia Madre and Meet The Patels. Before that he was at Paramount and IFC Films.
“Brooke and Jeff are integral members of our team leading the charge in growing Alchemy’s business, and I am confident that they will continue to break new ground in their expanded roles,” Lee said in announcing the promotions.
