As filming starts today on the Hulu original drama The Way, the series’ creator, playwright/TV writer Jessica Goldberg has signed an overall deal with Universal Television, the studio behind the faith-themed show starring Aaron Paul and Michelle Monaghan. Under the pact, she will continue as an executive producer on The Way while also developing new projects for the studio.
Before developing The Way with Jason Katims’ Universal TV-based True Jack Prods., Goldberg worked on the NBC drama Parenthood, from Katims and Universal TV.
“Jessica Goldberg is an incredibly talented writer, and we’re thrilled to be in business with her at the studio,” said Universal TV president Bela Bajaria. “Her work on Parenthood was extraordinary and she created a new powerful drama, The Way, for Hulu that has attracted an A-list cast.”
Goldberg is repped by UTA and McKuin Frankel Whitehead.
