Following the news that Emmy-winning sound editor Maciek Malish died Saturday in a bicycle accident, showunners from two series on which he worked paid tribute to their friend today.
“We were shocked and saddened to hear of the death of our friend and colleague Maciek Malish,” Jonathan Nolan of Westworld and Greg Plageman of Person Of Interest said in a joint statement. “Maciek was, first and foremost, a delightful and wise man, with a great sense of humor and grace informed by both his youth in Poland and his life in Southern California. He was also a consummate, brilliant professional who loved his work. We had the great pleasure of working with him on two projects for five years — and had hoped to work with him for many more. He will be very missed. Our thoughts are with his family.”
