The reality competition series hosted by Robert Carradine and Curtis Armstrong won’t be returning for a fourth cycle. TBS has ended King Of The Nerds after three seasons. Armstrong announced the news on Twitter:
The cancellation decision, confirmed by TBS, comes after TNT and TBS’ new topper Kevin Reilly in February outlined a brand makeover for TBS with a focus on “bold sensibility.” This is the first renewal decision on the unscripted series since the regime change at the network. The axing was is not surprising given the fact that it has been six months since the show ended its eight-episode third season.
King of the Nerds — which gives contestants challenges that test their intellect, ingenuity, skills and pop-culture knowledge for a $100,000 prize — was the first TBS reality show to stick after several strikeouts. It was designed as a companion for TBS’ hit acquired comedy The Big Bang Theory.
