IFC has tapped Sallie Schoneboom as SVP of public relations, effective immediately. Schoneboom moves to IFC from NBCUniversal where she served as SVP of communications for Syfy and Chiller. She reports to Ellen Kroner, EVP and chief communications officer for IFC parent AMC Networks, and will work closely with IFC President and General Manager, Jennifer Caserta. Schoneboom is based in the network’s NYC headquarters.
“Sallie is a seasoned communications executive with extensive experience across every area of television public relations,” said Kroner. “She is a terrific addition to the IFC senior leadership team, and joins the team as the network continues to expand its original programming slate and work with some of the biggest names in comedy.”
In her new role, Schoneboom will oversee the development and implementation of strategic consumer media relations, program publicity and talent relations for the network’s comedy brand, home to Portlandia, Documentary Now!, Maron and Comedy Bang! Bang!
At Syfy, Schoneboom led press campaigns for Sharknado, Sharknado 2, Defiance and Battlestar Galactica, among others. Prior to NBCUniversal, Schoneboom was the VP of media and talent relations at Disney-ABC Television Group where she oversaw publicity for the network’s daytime line-up.
