There was twice the spice on NBC last night with Mel B. showing up on both America’s Got Talent (2.0/7) and the Season 3 finale of Hollywood Game Night (1.3/4) The AGT judge and former Spice Girl was joined on the latter by Pete Wentz, Niecy Nash, Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D’s Ming Na Wen, Kevin Nealon and Cedric the Entertainer. The 10 PM Jane Lynch-hosted celeb game show was even with last week among adults 18-49 but up 18% over its 8 PM Season 2 finale on July 24 last year, which was a Thursday with no AGT lead-in.
On a night that also saw Serena Williams play and win over her sister Venus at the U.S. Open on ESPN, and help the sports channel snag its second best tennis rating ever with 2.7 rating in metered markets, NBC was tops among the Big 4 with a 1.8/6 rating and 8.55 million viewers. While the top-rated and most watched (10.40 million) show of Tuesday night, AGT had a 13% decline in the demo from its September 1 show – though that could change in later numbers.

HGN wasn’t the only finale on last night as both Extreme Weight Loss (0.6/2) and Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader (0.7/2) wrapped up their latest runs. The 10 PM ABC show was even with last week but dropped a hard 45% among the 18-49s from its last finale on September 9 last year. That show was on from 8-10 PM on comparatively equally competitive Tuesday. For the 8 PM 5th Grader, the week-to-week last night was much better with a 40% rise among the demo. Being that the last time the revived Jeff Foxworthy-hosted show was on was back in the distant TV era of 2009, comparisons to the last 5th Grader finale are apples and astroids.
Over on CBS, the only original was Zoo (1.0/3), which was even with last week to match a low.
The CW was all repeats.
