Jon Taffer, the star of Spike TV’s hit original series Bar Rescue, has signed a first-look deal with the cable network to develop more content. The deal comes during the middle of Season 4 of the series, which follows the business-turnaround specialist using tough love to revamp failing bars around the country. Season 3 averaged 1.8 million viewers.
“Spike TV has been extremely supportive since day one and I couldn’t imagine signing this deal with any other network,” said Taffer. “Together we have grown Bar Rescue into a household name and programming staple. I look forward to continuing our work in creating original content that builds on our tremendous success to date.”
New episodes return on October 4 at 10 PM as the show, from 3 Ball Entertainment, nears 100 episodes.
“We are incredibly thrilled to expand our successful partnership with Jon,” Spike TV’s EVP Original Series Sharon Levy said. “Throughout four seasons of Bar Rescue, America has witnessed Jon Taffer transform small businesses with his innovative techniques and big ideas. We can’t wait to see what else Jon has to say on Spike. This is just the beginning.”
Taffer is repped by WME and Hirsch, Wallerstein.
