Awards consultant Alexis Persyko, who worked as part of campaigns that notably netted Academy Awards for Ratatouille, Wall-E, Toy Story 3, and Up, has died following a battle with colon cancer. She was 38 years old.
Born in Vancouver, British Columbia October 6, 1976, she grew up in the San Francisco area before moving ten years ago to Los Angeles, where she became an awards consultant on campaigns for studios such as Paramount, Disney and Sony Pictures. In addition to successful campaigns for Disney, among the other campaigns she was part of were such films as World Trade Center, Moneyball, Captain Phillips, Zero Dark Thirty, and American Hustle.
She is survived by her wife, Nancy Tate, who serves as executive vice president of worldwide creative content for Sony Pictures Entertainment, her parents Luita and Art, her brother David, and many other friends and family. In lieu of flowers, her family requests that donations in her honor and memory be made to the LoveAlexisFund on Fidelity Charitable, or to Stand Up To Cancer.
