Tovey will play Rodolpho in a new staging of Arthur Miller’s A View From The Bridge opening on Broadway this fall at the Shubert-owned Lyceum Theatre. Hansell, a member of the show’s original Young Vic company, will reprise his role as Louis. The production won best revival at the 2015 Olivier Awards, along with director Ivo van Hove (making his Broadway debut) and actor Mark Strong, who plays Eddie Carbone in the 1955 drama. The 18-week run is slated to begin previews October 21 and open November 12, with Scott Rudin and non-profit Lincoln Center Theater co-presenting.
Tovey (HBO’s Looking, The History Boys) and Hansell (The Madness Of King George) join Strong (as Eddie Carbone), Nicola Walker (as Eddie’s wife Beatrice), Phoebe Fox (as his niece Catherine), Emun Elliott (as Marco), and Michael Gould (as Alfieri). The cast of View is appearing with the support of Actors’ Equity Association. The production has scenic and lighting design by longtime van Hove collaborator Jan Versweyveld, costumes by An D’Huys and sound design by Tom Gibbons.
