Starz’s Power is showing its strength. The second-season finale August 15 set a Starz series record in Live+3 ratings with 2.39M viewers, besting the previous week’s record of 2.29M and up +51% vs the first-season finale episode, which pulled in 1.59M, according to Nielsen and the network. The Season 2 finale episode premiere was up +5% from the previous week and +17% vs the season average of 2.03M.
The Power second-season finale was the largest Starz weekend audience ever for a Starz original series with 4.42M gross viewers on Live+3, the network says. It marked a +42% jump vs. the first-season finale (3.10M). In total, Starz says the series about a wealthy New York City nightclub owner who is living a double life as a drug kingpin is averaging more than 6.5M viewers per episode across all platforms through data compiled to date.

Power was renewed for a third season in June after its Season 2 premiere drew 1.43 million viewers, making it the network’s most-watched original series season debut. Creator, executive producer and showrunner Courtney Kemp Agboh will return to the helm alongside executive producers Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Mark Canton, Randall Emmett and Gary Lennon.
