The Fighting Irish are ranked in the top 10 of many preseason polls and primed for a strong season, and Showtime’s cameras will go along for every pass. The premium cabler announced today at the TCA Summer Press Tour that A Season With Notre Dame Football, a 12-part docuseries, will chronicle the storied team’s 2015 campaign, with inside access to players and coaches. The season-long series will premiere September 8, three days after the team’s opening game against the University of Texas. Production is underway on the Notre Dame campus in South Bend, IN.
Each half-hour episode will follow the preparation for the previous Saturday’s game, showcasing the intensity of the sidelines on game day and how the Golden Domers balance football with classwork. Later segments will document the preparations to play host to USC for the 86th edition of their fierce annual rivalry game and the Shamrock Series showdown with Boston College at historic Fenway Park.
