Looks like summer love is working out just fine for ABC. In its second season second week in the Monday slot, Bachelor In Paradise (1.5/6) rose 15% among adults 18-49 and 6% in viewers (5.0 million) to hit series highs in both categories. However, even with that jump, BiP came up short in the slot with American Ninja Warrior (2.0/7) taking the top spot. In fact, steady with a 5% rise in the demo, ANW was the top rated and most watched (7.0 million) show of Monday’s primetime. Linked with its lead-out Running Wild With Bear Grylls (1.4/5), which bopped up 8% over its August 3 show, equaled NBC winning the night overall with a 1.8/6 rating and 6.002 million viewers.

Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance (0.9/3) was even with last week among the 18-49s. CBS was all encores on Monday.

The rest of ABC’s night saw Bachelor In Paradise: After Paradise (0.8/3) even with last week’s Monday debut. At 10 PM and the lowest rated original on the Big 4, drama The Whispers (0.6/2) fell 14% to hit a new low – at least in fast nationals.

On the flipside, The CW had a much better night, especially after last week’s series lows. With its best viewership ever (2.35 million), Penn & Teller: Fool Us (0.6/2) rose 20% from last week to match its second best demo result. And one rise leads to another with Whose Line Is It Anyway? (0.5/2) jumping 25% among the 18-49s. The CW anti-gravity ratings came to an end with Significant Mother (0.3/1). The new show was even with its debut of last week.
