It was “Gordon’s Greatest Hits” on MasterChef (1.7.6) last night and the audience ate it up. Hitting its best result among adults 18-49 this season, the Gordon Ramsay series rose 21% in the demo from its July 2 show. While the top rated show of the night, fellow 8 PM time slotter Big Brother (1.9/8) was even with last week. The same was true for Fox’s Bullseye (0.9/3). Overall, Fox and encore filled NBC were tied for the top spot among the demo with a 1.3/5. With BB coming in as the most watched original of last night (5.84 million), CBS were No. #1 among viewers with 5.37 million. The most watched show of Wednesday’s primetime was the America’s Got Talent repeat at 8 PM, which pulled in 6.59 million viewers.
Even coming off a Criminal Minds (0.9/3) repeat last night, Week 2 of Season 2 of Extant (0.8/3) had a double-digit lift. The Halle Berry starrer was up 14% among the demo. Not only is that a rare uptick for any show coming off a premiere but probably caused some relief over at CBS after last week’s weak debut – which also followed a CM encore. That joy will be evident over to fans of the series today. Berry and others from the heavily DVR’d sci-fi show will be appearing at Comic-Con Thursday as a part of the multi-series panel CBS has planned. Extant was tied in its timeslot with ABC’s only original of the night. Celebrity Wife Swap (0.8/3) was matched with its July 2 rating.
The CW was all encores.
