Broad Green Pictures will be releasing Terrence Malick’s Knight Of Cups starring Christian Bale, Natalie Portman and Cate Blanchett on March 4. The long-awaited film by Malick, which will arrive four years after his last release, To The Wonder, premiered at the Berlin Film Festival back in February. Since then, the pic has had runs at the Moscow International Film Festival and Jerusalem Film Festival. Knight Of Cups follows Rick (Bale), who is an uninspired screenwriter lost amid the waves of Hollywood’s excesses. Following his brother’s death, Rick loses himself in women, some of whom lead him to reconcile with the pain and emptiness in his life. Frieda Pinto, Imogen Poots, Wes Bentley, Isabel Lucas and Teresa Palmer also star.
In addition, Broad Green will bow the Sarah Silverman-Josh Charlies film I Smile Back on October 23. Directed by Adam Salky, it follows the life of Laney (Silverman), a suburban mom and wife who looks like she has it all, but underneath, she’s suffering from depression and disillusionment sending her into a world of recklessness.
James Napier Robertson’s The Dark Horse starring Cliff Curtis and James Rollerston will open December 11. Based on a true story, it follows the life of chess champ Genesis Potini.
