Emoji Movie: From Deadline Scoop To Kimmel Spoof

You’re welcome, Jimmy. We reported on Tuesday about a bidding war between rival studios over a film based on emoji – Sony won, by the way, and Eric Siegel and Anthony Leondis will be writing with Leondis directing. We have no idea what an emoji story looks like, but inspired by our story, Jimmy Kimmel did a skit this week imagining a serious take on the concept. Claiming to to have landed a copy of the script, he brought out Brie Larson (herself recently cast in Kong: Skull Island) to give a dramatic reading. Describing it will spoil the joke but suffice to say, it’s as accurate a depiction of a breakup by text as you can hope for. Funny stuff, but as usual, you saw it here first.
