Jane Krakowski (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, 30 Rock) will return to Roundabout Theatre Company for its 50th anniversary season to co-star on Broadway in a revival of She Loves Me with René Auberjonois (Benson, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine) and Gavin Creel (Hair, The Book Of Mormon) along with previously announced stars Laura Benanti and Josh Radnor.
The 1963 musical will be directed by Scott Ellis, choreographed by Warren Carlyle and have musical direction by Paul Gemignani. The creative team includes David Rockwell (sets), Jeff Mahshie (costumes), Don Holder (lights), Jon Weston (sound), Larry Hochman (orchestrations) and David Krane (dance arrangements and incidental music).
The show, originally staged by Harold Prince, is based on the play by Miklos Laszlo first adapted for The Shop Around The Corner, the 1940 Ernst Lubitsch film starring James Stewart and Margaret Sullivan, later updated as Nora Ephron’s 1998 film You’ve Got Mail starring Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. The show has a book by Joe Masteroff (Cabaret) and score by Sheldon Harnick and Jerry Bock (Fiddler On The Roof, also being revived this season).
The cast also will feature Nicholas Barasch and Peter Bartlett and ensemble members Cameron Adams, Alison Cimmet, Justin Bowen, Preston Truman Boyd, Benjamin Eakeley, Sara Edwards, Michael Fatica, Gina Ferrall, Jenifer Foote, Andrew Kober, Laura Shoop and Jim Walton. Ellis directed Roundabout’s 10-Tony nominated revival of She Loves Me in 1993 with Judy Kuhn, who is starring on Broadway in Fun Home.
