Disney XD’s Gravity Falls midseason debut has clocked that network’s biggest audience to date for a regular series telecast, in Live+3 ratings. The episode that premiered last Monday averaged 2.32 million viewers. It also logged a network best among kids 2-11 (1.04 million/2.6 rating), boys 2-11 (686,000/3.4).
Overall, Gravity Falls now accounts for Disney XD’s Top 7 regular animated series telecasts of all time in kids 6-11, the Top 4 in boys 6-11 and Top 5 in kids 2-11.
Gravity Falls ranked as the No. 1 program in its Monday 8:30 PM time period in all of television, across all kids and boys 2-11, 6-11 and 6-14 demographics. It was cable TV’s No. 1 scripted telecast in total viewers.
Live+3 vs. Live+Same Day, Gravity Falls rose by double digits across all demos, including by 21% in total viewers (2.32 million vs. 1.91 million), by 26% in kids 2-11 (851,000 vs. 677,000), by 23% in boys 6-11 (574,000 vs. 465,000), by 21% in kids 6-11 (1.036 million vs. 855,000) and by 20% in boys 2-11 (686,000 vs. 574,000).
The series, which launched on Disney Channel in June 2012 and moved to Disney XD in August 2014, chronicles twins Dipper and Mabel, who live with Great Uncle Stan in the off-kilter town of Gravity Falls, OR.
