Garret Dillahunt is set to star opposite John C. McGinley in the youth baseball drama Rounding Third and appear with Aaron Paul in the thriller Come And Find Me. McGinley stars in Rounding Third as the win-at-all-costs coach of a kids baseball team on which his son plays. Dillahunt will play the new assistant coach. The coaches butt heads as they scrap through a season despite different personal circumstances and philosophies about the game and how to motivate their team. Robert Deaton and George Flanigen are directing for producer Fred Roos. Come And Find Me, from writer-director Zack Whedon, stars Paul as David, who must track down his missing girlfriend (Annabelle Wallis) after he realizes she’s not who she was pretending to be. Dillahunt plays a significant figure from the girlfriend’s past. He co-stars in the Amazon drama series Hand Of God and next appears in the features Beast and The Long Home. Other recent credits include 12 Years A Slave, Raising Hope and Justified. Dillahunt is repped by UTA, D2 Management and Stone Meyer.
Kal Penn has joined the cast of Speech & Debate, director Dan Harris’ adaptation of Stephen Karam’s acclaimed off-Broadway play. It follows three misfit high schoolers (Liam James, Sarah Steele and Austin McKenzie) in a very small Oregon town who are frustrated by the hypocrisy they see in their parents, teachers and the school board. Banding together, they revive a defunct school debate club to take on the world. Penn will play the James character’s father, a member of the school board who is caught between wanting to do the right thing for his son and the kids and having to deal with family pressures from his wife (Kimberly Williams-Paisley). Harold & Kumar alum Penn’s recent credits include TV’s Battle Creek, How I Met Your Mother and We Are Men. Upcoming features include The Girl In The Photographs, the untitled Bruce Willis detective movie and The Layover. He is repped by Gersh and Industry Entertainment.
