FX Networks has promoted five senior marketing executives to EVP and SVP positions. Sally Daws has been upped to EVP, Marketing and Digital Media, and John Varvi has been named EVP, On-Air Promotions. In addition, Todd Heughens has been promoted to SVP, Print Design; Jason Phipps is SVP, Digital Media; and Lance Reiss has been named SVP, Marketing. The five will report to Stephanie Gibbons, President, Marketing, Digital Media and On-Air Promotions.
Daws most recently served as SVP, Marketing and Digital Media. In her new role, she will continue to oversee the network’s advertising and national media planning and buying, consumer integrated promotions, and digital media, including the TV Everywhere application, FXNOW and Simpsons World. Varvi most recently served as SVP of On-Air Promotions at FX Networks. He has worked on FX original series ranging from The Shield, Nip/Tuck, Rescue Me to Sons of Anarchy, Louie, Justified, The Americans, Tyrant, Fargo and American Horror Story. Heughens most recently served as VP, FX Print Design. In his new role, Heughens will continue to head up the Print Design department. Phipps most recently served as VP, Digital Media. In the new role, he will be responsible for daily oversight of digital media efforts for FX Networks. Reiss most recently served as Vice President of Marketing & Advertising for FX where he worked on such series as Sons Of Anarchy, American Horror Story, Fargo, The Americans and the upcoming, The Bastard Executioner. In his new role, Reiss will oversee advertising, media planning and buying, vendor negotiations, content distribution, finance and budgetary items and will continue to be involved with all consumer marketing initiatives.
Veteran marketing exec Lori Hall has joined TV One as SVP of Marketing. Hall is charged with developing and executing TV One’s marketing initiatives across all platforms and initiates all phases of marketing, including advertising and branding outreach efforts. She is based in Silver Spring, Md., reporting to President Bradley J. Siegel. Hall comes to TV One from UP where she served as VP Consumer Marketing since 2013.
Univision News, the news division of Univision Communications Inc., has appointed Keith Summa as senior vice president, Content Innovation. He will report directly to Isaac Lee, president of News and Digital for UCI and CEO of Fusion.
Summa will spearhead development of journalistic tools, models and narratives for the operation, also working with Fusion, the millennial-targeting joint venture between Univision and ABC. Prior to this appointment, Summa was vice president of News Partnerships for Univision News, in charge of developing journalistic alliances for UCI’s news division as well as supporting and expanding investigative and enterprise reporting in both Univision and Fusion.
Before joining Univision in 2012, Summa was head of the CBS News Investigative Unit, after 15 years as a producer for ABC News and Peter Jennings Productions.
