Cartoon Network has renewed five original series, Adventure Time, Regular Show, Steven Universe, Uncle Grandpa and Clarence.
The network picked up an eighth season of Peabody-winning Adventure Time and Emmy-winning Regular Show. Adventure Time features unlikely heroes Finn and Jake, two buddies who traverse the mystical Land of Ooo and encounter its colorful inhabitants. Adventure Time was created by Pendleton Ward and is produced at Cartoon Network Studios.
Regular Show features best friends and groundskeepers, Mordecai, a six-foot-tall blue jay and Rigby, a hyperactive raccoon who spend their days trying to entertain themselves by any means necessary. Season 7 premieres this summer ahead of the new Season 8 this fall. Regular Show was created by JG Quintel and is produced at Cartoon Network Studios.
Created by Rebecca Sugar, Steven Universe will return for a third season. It tells the story of three magical defenders of the planet….and Steven the “little brother” to the Crystal Gems — a team of magical guardians of humanity. A third season has also been greenlit for Emnny-winning Uncle Grandpa, created by Pete Browngardt and produced at Cartoon Network Studios, All new episodes from Season 2 will premiere this summer; with Season 3 slated for premiere in 2016. And Clarence will be back for a second season. Clarence is an optimistic, spirited, lovable boy who sees the best in all things and wants to try everything.
