The BBC has released a first look image of Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman returning for a special Christmas edition of the BBC’s Sherlock. The two intrepid detectives appear in Victorian garb, a hint perhaps, that the latest installment of the ratings juggernaut has an element of time traveling to it. Dressed in traditional tweeds and with Watson sporting a crowbar moustache, the Christmas edition seems to indicate a hark bark to the original time frame of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic books.
Released ahead of the Sherlock panel at this year’s Comic-Con– which includes exec producers Steven Moffatt and Sue Vertue, and Rupert Graves (who plays DI Lestrade)- the image from the Christmas special will be to whet fan’s appetites ahead of its broadcast later this year, along with three more episodes of a new series.
