A slow Sunday saw at least two primetime victories last night. For one, there was a winner on the freshman season of BattleBots (1.4/4) as one robot rules them all – though it was a close call by the judges. It was also a close call among adults 18-49 with the show rising 8% from last week. The finale of BattleBots also saw a viewership rise, up 5% to 4.6 million. With that, and the finale of Celebrity Family Feud (2.0/7) even with its July 19 show and Save My Life: Boston Trauma (0.9/3) up 13%, ABC won the night in key demo with a 1.3/4 rating. Univision was second while CBS was No. 1 with viewers with 5.37 million compared with ABC’s 5.23 million.
A repeat-heavy CBS saw Big Brother (1.8/6) even with last Sunday’s show. The reality veteran saw its best Sunday viewership of this season with 5.92 million tuning in – making it the second-most-watched show of the night after the 8.54 million who tuned in for the Season 1 finale of Celebrity Family Feud. Fox and The CW were all encores and local programming Sunday.
NBC’s only originals were a double dose of Welcome To Sweden. The 8 PM (0.3/1) broadcast of the second week of the second season of the Euro-based comedy was even with last week to match a series low. The 8:30 PM (0.2/1) broadcast had a less friendly reception, with a 33% drop in the demo from its July 19 show to a series low.
