Weepah Way For Now, written and directed by Stephen Ringer, will world premiere June 16th in the LA Muse section of the Los Angeles Film Festival.
Real-life sisters AJ Michalka (The Goldbergs) and Aly Michalka (iZombie) star in and produce the film about two sisters on the cusp of adulthood. The pair spend their last week before heading off on their next music tour visiting friends and preparing for the going away party they intend to host. Their apprehensions about throwing the party are universally validated when their divorced mother and father as well as both of their ex-boyfriends converge on the party, leaving tragedy in the wake of what they had envisioned as a unifying celebration. In the aftermath, Elle and Joy are left with the sobering yet liberating truth that they can only rely on one another. Cast also includes Mimi Rodgers Dan Byrd, Amanda Crew, Madeline Zima, Liam Aiken, and Jon Heder. Oscar-nominee Saoirse Ronan narrates the film. Michael Einziger of the band Incubus composed the score. Watch the trailer above.
