The film details the explosive 1991 confirmation hearings for Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas (Wendell Pierce) that were rocked by testimony by Oklahoma law professor Anita Hill (Washington), which brought the country to a standstill and forever changed the way we think about sexual harassment, victims’ rights and modern race relations. The cast also includes Greg Kinnear, Jennifer Hudson, Eric Stonestreet, Jeffrey Wright and Alison Wright.
Dope helmer Rick Famuyiwa is directing from a script by Susannah Grant. Grant, Washington, Michael London and Janice Williams executive produce for HBO Films in association with ABC Signature and London and Williams’ Groundswell Production.
