“I need some help, Grandma.” Lily Tomlin stars as the acerbic grandma in Paul Weitz’s comedy that premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and opened this month’s Los Angeles Film Festival. Tomlin plays a self-described misanthrope whose protective bubble bursts when her 18-year-old granddaughter (Julia Garner) shows up needing help. (Boy does she need help).
Laverne Cox appears in the new trailer, as Tomlin’s old bud who can’t give her the cash she needs to help her granddaughter in need, but can give her something else — a tattoo.
Written by Weitz as well, the pic also stars Sam Elliot, Judy Greer and Marcia Gay Harden. It hits theaters on August 21. What do you think of the trailer?
