Ellen’s Design Series is returning to HGTV in January. The top-rated furniture design competition series, first conceptualized by Ellen DeGeneres, adds more competitors to its sophomore season, and jumps from six to nine episodes, including a 60-minute behind-the-scenes special, according to HGTV.
During its first-season run, Ellen’s Design Challenge ranked as one of the highest-rated series in HGTV history, delivering more than 12 million total viewers. It also ranked as a top 10-rated cable program for the Monday 9-10 PM time period among A25-54, the network says.
Ellen’s Design Series is produced by DeGeneres’ production company, A Very Good Production, and A. Smith & Co. Productions in association with Telepictures. DeGeneres, A Very Good Production’s Jeff Kleeman and A. Smith & Co.’s Arthur Smith and Kent Weed executive produce.
