Director and co-writer Paul Feig made the somewhat cryptic announcement on his Twitter feed. Seems Chris Hemsworth is trading Thor’s mighty hammer for a stapler and will play “our receptionist” in Sony’s female Ghostbusters movie now in the works with Feig’s Spy star Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones.
The role is a supporting lead — Hemsworth will be playing the male version of Annie Potts’ Janine Melnitz, secretary to the original band of ghostbusters. One source told Deadline that he will be the assistant to the band of ghostbusting gals “who nobody wants to work with.”
The new pic is due out July 22, 2016. Hemsworth is repped by CAA.
