In his follow-up series to Breaking Bad, Aaron Paul has been tapped as the male lead opposite Michelle Monaghan in the Hulu original drama series The Way (working title), from Jason Katims’ True Jack Prods. Additionally, Paul will serve as a producer on the 10-episode series, and his production company Lucid Road Productions has closed a first-look deal with Hulu sibling Universal Television, which produces The Way.
Created by Jessica Goldberg and developed inhouse at True Jack Prods. by the company’s Katims and Michelle Lee, The Way examines a couple, Eddie (Paul) and Sarah Cleary (Monaghan), at the center of a controversial movement struggling with relationships, marriage and power, with each episode taking an in-depth look at what it means to choose between the life we live and the life we want. Paul’s Eddie suffers a crisis of faith when all that he’s come to accept as truth in his life is fundamentally challenged.
The Way, executive produced by Goldberg, Katims and Lee, is slated to begin production in the summer for a winter debut. Mike Cahill is directing the first episode.
Paul is coming off his co-starring turn as Jesse Pinkman on AMC’s acclaimed series Breaking Bad, which earned him three Emmy Awards, making him the first three-time Emmy winner in the drama supporting actor category.
