Ryan Seacrest will try to launch another reality hit on Fox in the summer. The network announced this morning it will debut Knock Knock Live, on Tuesday, July 21. Seacrest will stay in a Los Angeles-based studio while a “Knock Knock Live team” travels the country to knock on people’s door and offer them a chance to win a big cash prize, meet their fave celebrity, have a concert on their front lawn, win courtside seats, etc. just for correctly naming nine kids who live on their block, playing a game of H-O-R-S-E with a celebrity athlete, etc.
The project keeps Seacrest in business with Simon Fuller’s (American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance) XIX Entertainment and dick clark productions (So You Think You Can Dance). Seacrest became a household name as the surviving host of American Idol back in June of 2002. That first season’s finale clocked more than 23 million viewers. Fox announced, at its Upfront Week presentation this month, it will wrap Idol at the end of its 16th season, debuting in early ’16.
